Crayonic vs Imprivata
Imprivata is clinical single sign-on and access software. On shared workstations it authenticates clinicians with a proximity badge tap plus face authentication from a standard webcam, which it calls “tap and smile” (Imprivata datasheet). Crayonic is hardware: a FIDO2-certified, security-first wearable that signs clinicians in by presence and locks when they leave.

When to choose which
Imprivata fits when
The main problem is password sprawl across dozens of clinical applications and you need single sign-on into each of them.
Crayonic fits when
The problem is the authentication step itself: shared accounts, sessions left open, phishing, and clinicians in gloves and masks.
Many hospitals need both
Single sign-on and a strong, fast authenticator solve different problems. Ask us how the Badge fits your existing access stack.

Frequently asked questions
Is Crayonic an Imprivata alternative?
For the authentication step on shared workstations, yes: the Crayonic Badge signs clinicians in by presence with FIDO2 credentials instead of a badge tap plus face check. For single sign-on into many clinical apps, the two can be complementary.
Does the Crayonic Badge need a camera at the workstation?
No. It uses a Crayonic Bridge for presence-based login, or an existing NFC reader for a tap.
Does the Crayonic Badge lock the workstation automatically?
Yes. When the Badge leaves the presence zone around the workstation, the session locks.
