It delivers phishing-proof, passwordless multifactor authentication with FIDO2 passkeys and X.509 certificates, presence-based touchless login and logout on shared workstations, digital signatures, AI scribing, encrypted notifications, RTLS positioning and a panic button – empowering teams to access systems, locations and data with one certified, trusted device.

The Badge is the core of the Crayonic security platform. Together with Crayonic Device Manager and Credential Manager, it protects identities, access and data across critical infrastructure, from hospitals and banks to factories and defense. It runs fully under your control and keeps working offline.

Made in EU, FIDO2 Certified, Microsoft and Common Criteria EAL5+ certified

Key features

Phishing-resistant MFA

FIDO2 passkeys in a Common Criteria EAL5+ secure element. The PIN is entered on the Badge itself. A fingerprint re-verifies the wearer whenever the Badge is unsure, for example after it was left on a desk and locked. Once unlocked, on-body detection and continuous motion monitoring allow fully touchless operation.

Touchless login and physical access

Presence-based touchless login and logout on shared workstations with a Crayonic Bridge, as the Badge has to be physically near the workstation. Where only an NFC reader is installed, it is tapped like a smart card. It opens doors by proximity or NFC and carries a photo ID or access card in its back slot.

What-You-See-Is-What-You-Sign

The trusted display shows exactly which login, document or transaction you are approving, so malware on the PC or phone cannot change it. Optional qualified e-signatures (QSCD).

Critical notifications and paging

Encrypted alerts, pages and calendar updates on an e-ink screen with a buzzer, readable all day without draining the battery.

Panic button and location

One press raises an alarm with the wearer's location through compatible RTLS services.

Encrypted voice notes and AI scribing

Record conversations encrypted with a key only your Badge holds. Crayonic Secure Scribe turns them into reviewed notes for your systems of record.

Built for your industry

Why a security-first wearable?

More than a security key

A USB key gets plugged in and forgotten. The Badge is worn all day, knows when it is on your body, and shows what you approve on its own screen.

Safer than a phone

Phones are always online, run third-party apps and can't be Common Criteria certified. The Badge keeps keys in a certified secure element and works offline.

One device instead of five

It replaces passwords, OTP tokens, pagers, dictation microphones and extra ID or access cards.

Technical specifications

Full hardware specifications, certifications and integration guides are in the Crayonic Badge technical documentation →

Managed centrally

Crayonic Device Manager and Credential Manager handle the lifecycle of every Badge and credential: self-service enrollment and recovery, Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory integration, remote updates, and audit logs streamed to your SIEM. Both can run on-premises or in your cloud. See enterprise management →

Frequently asked questions

Does the Crayonic Badge work with Microsoft Entra ID?

Yes. The Badge holds FIDO2 passkeys that register directly in Microsoft Entra ID, for passwordless sign-in to Windows, Microsoft 365 and Entra-connected apps. It also works with other FIDO2 identity platforms.

Is the Badge FIDO2 certified?

Yes. The Badge is FIDO2 Level 1 certified and attested for Microsoft Entra ID, with Level 2 certification under way and expected to be official in H1 2027. Keys stay in a Common Criteria EAL5+ certified secure element.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Authentication runs on the device and on local infrastructure, so login and access keep working during internet or cloud outages.

Is the Badge a hardware wallet? What about EUDIW?

Yes. Like all Crayonic devices, the Badge is a security-first wearable and, technically, a hardware wallet: identities, keys and credentials live in its certified secure element and never leave it. We are preparing the Badge for certification as part of the EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDIW) ecosystem, planned for 2027.

Where is the Badge made?

The Badge is fully manufactured in the European Union, and its critical components are EU-made.

When should I choose KeyVault instead?

Choose Crayonic KeyVault for individual users who need a compact USB/NFC/Bluetooth security key. Choose the Badge for shared workstations, physical access, transaction signing and safety features.
